A poem inspired by late night analyses and lazYness

So I read this poem

So I read this poem
In English class today
And was told to cut it up
In the most offensive way
I had to take this beautiful poem
And turn it inside out
Taking all its innards
Just to use as clout
I was forced to take a butcher knife
And slice it from end to end
Dissecting every single piece
No sympathy to lend
To the poor author who never meant
The poem to be abused
By 30-something students
Trying to stay amused
Now I’ve taken the whole poem
And pulled it entirely apart
And I’ve found the hidden meanings
Placed in this work of art
I've discussed the rhythm
And I've addressed the mood
I only hope I have this right
So I don’t get my ass sued.

p.s. I'd like to thank Jems for the inspiration on this one.

You have brought my thoughts to comprehensible words, which in itself is an accomplishment beyond belief. Especially considering I rarely do it myself.
